I have to decide until tomorrow, which subject to choose for high school; music or art. (There's actually shodou too, but I marked that out)
I like both.
And the problem is, I can't change the one I chose. So I'm stuck with it for three years.
I'm having a very hard time deciding.........

Suggestions, please?

Well, it's difficult to tell someone that likes both which one to do. =P Like I've taken art classes in the past, but would never consider taking a music class. :\ I had a lot of fun with art, but it's hard to choose if both are things you like to do. I found art to be a great "winding down" class, where you just draw/paint/whatever they ask you to do for that day and you don't have to worry about anything else for however long that class it (unless you have to take it out of class.)

Well, my experience of art is that it becomes very... theory based, which sounds incredibly un-productive considering, so I'd say Music, if thats your kind of thing.

I'm not good at either.... I don't get art in the least. (Last Friday there was an art display going on outside of my last physics class. I, with all the other physicists, was more interested in the stand holding a piece up then the piece itself). Also, I barely listen to any music. (The only song I have listened to in the past month is the Dirty Jobs Anthem). I picked art since I am only minutely better at that.

Don't they offer something cool like calculus or physics? (At all my schools after grade school it was science or art or language. I broke the family tradition and went with science).

If I had that choice I would choose Art.
Music is great to listen to, but I don't think I'd be able to stand studying it for 3 years.

I'd say music, but then, I'm slightly biased as I was a music major. Music has always come very easy for me - any instrument, any sort, and art was always been too tedious and stressful for me in school. It's been a great pasttime for me to be able to sit down at an instrument and still play something and get out stress that way.
If this is for grade school (of any sort), they'll both probably be equally taxing. Both will require you to learn techniques, and practice them extensively. It just depends on what you have more of an interest in. Do you feel you have a natural aptitude towards drawing? Or do you find yourself singing along with every song you hear and others don't shrink away or tell you you're off pitch? Either way, you'll probably have fun in either one!

Hmm, is there any way for you to find out the syllabus or the workload for those subjects? Or you could ask people in above years what they chose and why.

If I had to choose between Art and Music then I would probably choose Art. I do miss Art now, but I don't miss Music in the slightest (I dropped both and took Drama haha).

Oh gosh. I am totally challenged in both areas. xD I would personally go with art because music confuses me to death. Atleast with art you don't have to remember what all these little symbols mean o_O

I would like to do so, but unfortunately we live far away from the actual school.

Music:　singing, instruments, and........ appreciation??(That's what it says when I translated it via babelfish)

Art:Sketching, Oil painting, Block painting(?I don't even know what this is), design, appreciation.

I oddly chose music. I find you can learn more about art on your own then you can in most classes unless you have an extremely good teacher. Too many teachers dont' really care and are coming from an era in art where they believe more in theory then the technical side.

Is it block painting, or block printing? I've never heard of block painting before, but block printing is (basically) like making a giant stamp. It's relief printmaking.

Music, I find that harder to do on my own, and I loved it and loved what I learned in it. Art was never much of a challenge for me, music was.

I would choose music, but that's because I'm a music teacher Although, I must say that when I was in school, I loved ceramics class. It was so relaxing and I loved creating my pieces. I've even considered taking a class at a local college or finding something similar because I enjoyed it so much. Pickles had a really good suggestion...actively think about which you enjoy doing more. Do you find yourself singing in the shower? Ever doodled on your papers during class? Which of those would you feel more comfortable studying for an extended period of time? And which would you like to improve on?
