Dappled light illuminated the riverside. A stream meandered lazily by and the air was rich with the smells of wet earth and the faint buzz of insects. Every so often a splash would be heard as fish grabbed their prey from the air. A bandit swaggered noisily over to the river. A crossbow hung at his belt with a rapier on the other side, his skin was coarse and dirty. He dipped a filthy hand into the clear water and splashed his face. There was a noiseless blur in the air and an arrow was protruding from the thug’s chest. Confusion followed by pain and fear flashed across his face. He reached up and yanked at the shaft. It remained stuck fast. A crimson stain blossomed across his shirt. A shadow fell across him and his fear for his life was magnified hugely. A scimitar swung out of the air and separated his head from his shoulders.
For a while all that was heard was the occasional click of a horse’s hoof on the stony riverbed. Another arrow was unleashed. It sped through the trees killing another bandit instantly. A man’s derisive voice was heard, speaking in some arcane language.
Tiarone did not even stay to watch the glade and the brigands burn. The trees had already been poisoned, so he released them from their fate, and he hated the bandits.. Tiarone was a centaur, as a male, his horse half was obviously a stallion, his coat was pure black. Except he was an oddity. His skin was incredibly pale. His hair and eyes were the same as his coat, but the contrast between them and his skin was startling.

An Elf crouched on a branch, hidden, her bow and arrows ready in case help was needed. It was not. "Well fought, Centaur. A noble battle, though one sided." she called, leaping off the branch in front of the Centaur. "Too bad about the trees, though it it couldn't be helped, I suppose." She had brown hair and blue eyes, and was wearing green.
