I'm not going to use my font formatting right now because apparently there's a problem with it being much too small, and I'm very confused. Before the downtime, it seemed fine, or at least I didn't have any problems with it, but now it seems like everything has changed! When I look at my posts with the formatting, they look the same, so I am honestly very confused as to what the problem is with others.

I had it set to size 11 which should be perfectly readable. What about the sizing changed?? I'm so confused! ):

Is there some sort of guide somewhere on the intarwebz to the changes?
Hey, cool, spoiler tags

That would be really nice because right now I'm just totally lost and I have never ever seen this formatting before despite being (I think) pretty well-versed at forum troubleshooting...

I would have really liked for the staff to have maybe made some sort of "things have changed" kind of announcement rather than just throwing it in our faces and expecting us to not make mistakes.

I've seen the post you were PM'd about and it was indeed too small. To get your old formatting you'll have to use:
Code:
[size=92][b][color=#953eb8] [/color][/b][/size]
See? Back to normal. :)

Edit:

There will be an update to the FAQ. We will post up when it's done. :)

[Edited for typo]

Thank you so much! However, I'm still very confused as to exactly how the new sizing works, and why it was changed? For example, what is the ratio to the number of pixels high the letter is? I just don't get it. T_T

I'm not sure. It's something to do with the new phpbb3. There are still things we have to work out. :)

Ah, I see. Again, thank you so much, and sorry for my less-than-warranted attitude.

Is the FAQ update going to be announced publicly, or should I be refreshing it constantly until it appears? I much await the update either way, and I will impatiently check the forum until then! XD

The new number in size tags is a percentage of the default font size - 100 is 100%, 92 is 92% and so on.
The change was made to prevent you from specifcying an absolute font size (which is what the phpbb2 size tags take), which would not be scaled by the browsers' Text Size setting. The browsers' Text Size setting allows people with poor vision to magnify all text on webpages - essentially, the new size tags enable browsers to scale text size rather than always displaying the same absolute size.

I see. So, what exactly is the default size proportionate to (like in terms of pixels or HTML size or something familiar)

You are welcome. :) There will be a Global Announcement when the FAQ is updated. You won't need to keep refreshing the page because it will be viewable at the top of each individual board. That's another of the neat features of phpbb3. ;)

We would have had all the kinks out prior to the release, but we were getting tired of bricks being thrown through the windows with "HURRY UP" scrawled on them.

We do, however, still enjoy the ones that read "KYM'S A SPAMMER". :)
