Our grade 9 & 10 class in the mini school recently went to Bamfield on Vancouver Island to study Marine Biology for four days. It is absolutely amazing there! I have some photos to show everyone.

This the Grappler inlet around bamfield. We went on this ship that took us around and we did a plankton dredge.

Later we went to this awesome lab and they had a microscope that could take photos! Most of them turned out kind of out of focus but this one I thought was pretty nice.

Then we went on a ship, and it took us around a place called Wizard's rock! We saw seals (or mebbe sea lions). Pay attention to the two snuggling ones on the bottom.

Then we went to this absolutely amazing beach called Brady's beach.

I did something simmilar when I took my 13th year of HS. I went out to the Gulf/Queen Charlotte Islands and sailed around on a big ship. Kayaked... etc. It was great! I love that area! Robert Bateman has his own private island out there (I saw it! I wanted to jump ship!).

I love your shots of seastars. Thats what i've been painting recently. Giant paintings of enlarged parts of sea life. Chitons are my favorites! Really awesome stuff!
