In the editorial they mentioned a neocash item that was 5,000 NC (which would be $50) and that someone actually bought it. Does anyone recall seeing this item and what it was? I looked through the store but I didn't see it. Could be I overlooked it.

Oh gosh. No wonder. It's kinda hideous - I can't imagine anyone buying it for $50!

According to the Times, several people have bought it. An ironic way of protesting the mall and increasingly commercialization of the site.

Kudos to TNT for being willing to put that thing on sale in the first place.

I always get the feeling that most of the staff on the site side don't really like the commercialization of neopets any more than we do.

Actually, I think they kind of alluded/referred to that in this week's NT Editorial. They mentioned they get really hurt when users bash things they've been working overtime on.

Very true. Even if you don't like a new feature, TNT spend quite a bit of time on it!

Yeah I remember when they first introduced the mall and I was outraged, the one bright spot was seeing that shining example that TNT's sense of humor was still intact. :)
