I know that gender can be changed through the lab ray, but what is the other way that a pet's gender can be changed? I know there is an item (at least, I think I know) that can do it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I can't recall the item at the moment (a cape of something, I think), but if you battle the Lab Ray Scientist (refresh at 2nd lab ray page to get him, may take awhile...I haven't gotten him yet) there is a chance he may change the gender of your pet.

Here's what I found in a really old editorial:

And I've seen it mentioned on many of the pages I looked through that if you have the Lab Ray Scientist as a BD challenger, he can change your pets gender when you fight him.

Can't remember the item name, but if I remember, they hadn't intended for it to work that way, and disabled it. It only turned males into females though. :P

It's the Cape of the Sun. I had used it once, and like the day later, they disabled that function of it. As of right now, the only ways to change the gender of your pet are the lab ray, fighting the scientist in the Battledome, or using a Strange Potion (which costs a lot of money).

If you don't have the lab ray, want to use it, or don't have the scientist as a Battledome challenger, you can always transfer your pet to someone who does, and hope that they can change your pet's gender for you.
