Yes, there is lag, yes you can "help" people battle, no you cannot freely chat without upgraded, no your quest progress isn't saved, but yes, you can change classes! It is a two-letter domain name, but they are keeping the original for now. No download required, all you need is flash, a mouse (it's essential because it's the only way you can travel), and a keyboard if you want to edit the server/room number you are at (an example would be: /join battleon-6 but sometimes you go to another room instead.) I'm Traxiscrs and I'll most likely will be hanging out at the Twilly server.
