Okay, Tonu's "Ona Faerie Giveaway" just made me think of this, so I thought I'd ask...

I (still) have a White Ona from last years Advent Calendar. I'm not particularly keen on the colour, though, and was contemplating painting it. What I wanted to know was 1) can I actually paint it? 2) if I paint it blue, will it go back to looking like a normal Ona? and 3) if I do paint it, will it lose the message that says it was given out on the Advent Calendar?

Anywho, please don't think I'm totally clueless. I was just asking because the White Ona doesn't show up as a colour at the Petpet Puddle, and also because there is no actual Blue Ona, just the original one.

You actually can't paint it much like the Red Slorg you get from Test your Strength. It will always remain a White Ona.

Ah. Thanks Rune. I sorta suspected as much. Oh well, I'll hang on to it until I manage to get myself another Ona... or something anyway.

Well thats just silly that you can't paint it.

Perhaps you could sell the Ona to buy another petpet?

You never know though--Neopets might someday let you to paint it. They did with the snowbunny and the feepit--both were advent calendar giveaways.

I like both of them. Maybe it has something to do with my user name. And I now have one of each--the white one as a petpet on my Christmas peophin and the orignal one in my shop priced at 111111, because it was a gift from a sweetheart of a friend.

HeHe. I still have my Snowbunny and Feepit, too. I love them too much to give up. Actually, the only petpet I have that isn't from the Advent Calendar is my N4 Information Retrieval Bot... and man is that a long name to type.

But yea, hopefully one day they'll let us paint them. I think the Ona is just too cute, but I'd personally prefer mine to be blue.

Ah well, one can only wish, I guess...

While that would be a smart investment, Neopets would probably be given a lot of grief by Ona owners for depreciating the value of the ona.

Unfortunately. I never have been able to get my hands on an Ona, but I do have a White Ona, and wish I could paint it to look like the regular one. (I've got a Spyder as the petpet for the pet that I want one for at the moment)

i wouldn't be too happy if neopets let people paint their white onas into normal ones. I wanted one for an awfully long time and managed to get one at 100+ k nps after some time. It wouldn't be fair that everyone else got it at 10k nps and managed to get it to a normal colour. Although it would balance out if people had to pay over 100K nps for the pb for it :D

There wasn't already a snowbunny or feepit, so there wasn't a need to keep them as almost a different item.

Ona we all know is an expensive petpet and can be painted. White Ona, given for advent, if it was paintable, people would be using petpet pbs on and scamming people, just saying it was an Ona. That would also bring the price of the "official" or original Ona down. I think maybe they should have changed just a tiny bit more than just adding "white". No confusion that way!

If they let us paint them, the value of the normal Onas would plummet and the people who owned them originally would be very angry.

If it's a color paintable in the petpet puddle, it can be repainted. In the case of the Fir, yes.

yeah, but in most cases, it is even more costly to paint the petpet back to their original colour...for example painting a christmas doglefox back to brown would cost more than just buying an unpainted one.
