I have always saved images from the web for creating sets for myself and/or friends. Recently I've run into a problem with this. All of a sudden when I try to save an image from the web, it only gives me the option of saving it as a bitmap. Before I could save gifs, jpgs, & pngs as they were. Now it auotmatically converts them to a bitmap without offering another option. Anyone have any clue as to how I can fix this? Bitmaps are horrid to work with for image and graphic work.

Edit: Correction. I can save gif's without a problem. Just can't save jpgs and pngs wihtout them being converted.

Mine does that sometimes. I usually just end up saving it as a bitmap but if I really really need the decent image I take a screen-cap of it and then I save it myself :)

There are two bugs described in MSDN (at least that I can find), take your pick:
Internet Explorer Saves Images As Bitmaps (.bmp Files) (IE6 and below)
Right-Clicking, Selecting 'Save Picture As' Does Not Save Image with Correct Extension (up to 5.5)

Thank you so very much! That helped a lot. Now I can save the files in normal format again. I saved the link so I have it if I ever run across the problem again. :)
