Neopets Petpet Adventure: The Wand of Wishing
Developed for Sony’s handheld and scheduled for release in winter 2005, this
game is centred around Petpets, or more commonly referred to as pets for your
pets among Neopets users.
The plot is based around the initial story of a struggle between two neopets
over a powerful artefact known as the Wand of Wishing. Unfortunately, or
fortunately in our case, the fight has serious consequences and the wand opens
up a portal to another dimension where the dominant species is Petpets.
The game is not surprisingly classed as a 3D, action-adventure RPG game that
allows you, the player, to play as a third person. The game is heavily focused
on exploration and Petpet combat.
The development team for this game in Sony alerts us that the game will be
similar to Untold Legends. Your character can be armed with a multitude of
weapons ranging from swords and axes as they battle their way through a world of
mischief and mayhem (can we hear the howls of protests yet?).
Famous Neopets characters from the online version will make appearances in this
game. In addition, the storyline in this game will allow the player to enter
into quests similar in game style to Diablo and Baldur’s Gate.
The single player game allows you to choose between one of four different
characters while there is an option to duke it out in multiplayer battledome
made possible through WiFi connection. The battledome allows players to fight
against each other using weapons and spells they have collected and will closely
reflect the fighting style of the online Neopets.
In addition to the interaction available through the battledome, the connection
ability in Neopets Petpet Adventure: The Wand of Wishing will allow users to
buy, sell and trade items. |
