The Dark Faerie’s Curse: Part Three

I lay there trembling. What was I going to do? I couldn’t go over to the dark side. It could mean the end of Neopia! But refusing Sloth meant sacrificing my pets. I pictured them locked up in a cell scared and lonely with nothing to look forward to but death. There was only one person who could help me now.

"But it’s an emergency!" I cried. I was standing outside the faerie queen’s throne room. "What part of "no" don’t you understand?" The guard growled. "Please I’m begging you!" "Let me see the queen it’s urgent!" "What is going on out here?!" I looked up and gasped. The faerie queen herself was standing over me and she didn’t look pleased. "I caught this young girl trying to force herself in your majesty." The guard said grabbing me by the back of my shirt. "I’ll just throw her out." "No you won’t." She said calmly. "You’re going to apologize to her and let her speak to me." "But…" The guard started to say. "NOW!" She yelled. The guard released my shirt and glared at me. "Sorry." He grumbled. 

"Follow me." The queen said. We both walked into the throne room. The queen sat down on a beautiful golden throne. "Now what’s wrong?" I began to tell her the whole story. She sat there listening calmly. When I was finished she stood up. "So she’s back huh?" I nodded. "Is there anything you can do?" The queen sighed. "I’m afraid I can’t leave. I have to stay and rule the kingdom." "But maybe there’s something you can do." "Me?" That wasn’t the response I’d been hoping for. "But what can I do?" The queen snapped her fingers and we were instantly transported to the hidden tower.

"Your name is Carolyn right?" She asked. I nodded. "Well Carolyn I know where Sloth and Jhudora are keeping your pets." "They’re in the dark tower." "The d-dark tower?" I gasped. "Yes." She said nodding. "You may borrow any hidden tower item to help you on your quest." "However, without your pets to help you getting into the dark tower on you own will be impossible even with a hidden tower item." "Do you know anyone else with pets that might be able to help you?" "I do." I said thinking hard. "Do you have a phone in this place?" She pointed over to a purple phone on the wall. I grabbed it and dialed my little brother’s number. 

His pet grundo Fireball answered. "Hello?" "Hi Fireball." I said quickly. "It’s me Carolyn." "Could I talk to Tom?" Then Tom’s voice was on the line. "Hello?" "Hi Tom it’s me." "Could you help me?" "My pets have been kidnapped and I need your help!" "Oh really?" He said sarcastically. "And why should I help you?" I knew what would get his attention. 

"It involves beating up bad guys and saving the world." I said smiling to myself. Tommy didn’t answer. "Hello are you still there?" No answer. Suddenly I turned around and Tommy and all his pets were standing behind me grinning. "When do we start?" Tommy said eagerly. "Now." The faerie queen said. "We only have 6 hours left." "Now pick your weapons." Tommy chose Greater Orb of the Fire Faerie. His pets all chose Fire and Ice Blades. I chose The Rod of Nova.

"Are you sure we can trust him?" The queen whispered to me. "He’s only 8 years old!" "He’s 9." I said firmly. "And yes I can trust him." "Besides he watches wrestling every night." "Also, his Grundo will be an asset." "He was once in Sloth’s army before he was adopted so he should know the password to get in." "Fine." She sighed. Then she clapped her hands and me and Tom were instantly lifted out of the room. When we opened our eyes we were standing in front of the Dark Tower itself.
