Volcano Run Guide
Written by yellow_canary

Ah.. Volcano Run. That little Scorchio dips up and down and up again...let me gues...until he finally reaches his doom as a pile of ashes...after your poor steering just ran him right into a rock. If you're feeling frustrated at all times you've played and got a very poor amount of NP for your hard work, don't fret! This game has a secret, just like all the others.. and that secret is... practice! If you want to become good at it, you'll want to devote a bit of time each day.
You'll need probably about 5-30 minutes practicing each day, depending on how much time you have and how good you want to be. You could set a timer. :) Don't send your first scores, you need to warm up. (Unless they are high, that is!) Experiment with the space bar. (It makes him stop/slow down) You need to get the hang of his sudden stops, it will help later on. (Of course, you could be like me and scorn the spacebar completely, if you wish. It makes it harder though.) Don't be afraid to play the game several times, just seeing how the spacebar works. (The spacebar is a mixed blessing, though, I found its a bit harder to steer afterwards, and the sudden lurch of the background that happens sometimes doesn't help either.) When the timer goes off (if you set one), you're free of Volcano Run until the next day. :)
If you don't want to practice, or you just need some pointers while you do, I can help. ^^ Here are some good pointers/tips/secrets I've found:

The 'force shield', or the little round orb thing you see every now and then will help you. (It will let you crash into the wall/a rock without dying) The force shield actually makes crashing into a rock easier, or at least I think so, because it is so big. I recommend using it though, it will help you practice your steering.

(Of course, if you've been practicing like I told you to, you should know by now that you control the height of Glubgar by pressing/letting go of the mouse.) Let him dip and raise slightly, clicking constantly will only wear you out.

You must collect the diamonds. Some people say that collecting them makes the rocks start moving, but they move eventually whether you get the diamonds or not. Diamonds mean points, and points mean NP!

Remember, if you follow all of these pointers but don't practice, the best you'll be is okay at Volcano Run. (Unless you have an uncanny knack for computer games.) If you do practice, I bet you'll be earning yourself a bunch of NP and perhaps a trophy. For more tips or questions about Volcano Run, or any game, neomail me, yellow_canary. I love to give advice. ^^

Get out there and start playing!
