How to activate the secret shield quickly

In the beginning of the game the figure is moving slowly. Take advantage of this
situation, and already type the letters L A V, but not the A. If you type lava,
you get an extra shield, but in my opinion you should wait to use it until you
have passed the 2,000 points and if you're don't have a shield. During the game,
you're moving way too fast to look at what you type so if you have already typed
L A V, and wait until then, and hold your finger on the A button of your
keyboard, you'll have a shield in just 2 seconds when you need it.

The following tips should help you rake in the neopoints.
1. Start a new game. There are 1 of 4 places in which you can start off in. The best places are where there are a lot of crystals right at the start. If you start off at the entrance of a cave just
lose and you will start off somewhere else.
2. Find a starting which you are very familiar of and can move around easily. This way you will know what is coming up ahead and can move out of the way if there are any rocks, lava boulders etc.
3. It will take awhile, but before you know it you will be getting a good 1,200 - 1,600np per day!

Braking system

I have come up with a sort of theory thingy sort of thing. See what you do is use space bar to brake. Get used to using it like this. Then when there is something that you think you might not make through at this speed let go of space bar. It's then sorta like a boost. Very simple but very effective!
Mini guide

Ok, volcano run is a pretty hard game if your new to it but after a few games (like 100, lol) it gets a bit easier. I played and played and played until I finally got good at it:
1: Always try and get the shields and those wee crystals the crystals are good because you only play the game to get np anyway!
2: Don't go to close to the walls because then you are more likely to get burned!
3: Never get the cloud! I used to get the cloud and after 2 seconds I hit a rock! :(
4: If you have 100 points or less then you die don't bother sending the score cause you'll hardly get any np!
I hope this is useful, but I don't know why you want to play volcano run cause even if you get more than 1000 points you hardly get 500np!!! But, its still fun!
Best things to do

In volcano run the best thing that I have found to do is to be aware that the game
will start without notice, so be careful that you pay attention so you don't drop to the floor right at the start. Another thing thing that
I have found necessary to do is to not go out of my way for powerups, it may mean that you will get extra points or temporary invincibility, but if it is not in your path you just need to ignore it. Also, those big rocks that bounce diagonally toward you will not hurt you, they will just make you glide for a longer amount of time.

Speed and patterns

The score is your score by 4. The blocks speed and your speed increase at every 200 points after the
first 100 points. The blocks ALWAYS have a PATTERN so watch for it (it may take a few
minutes to start but there is one.). Have Fun!
The tips

For Volcano run, the trick is to keep tapping the button and to keep hovering. When there is block going up from the bottom, hold brake and wait until its halfway up, then let go and
you'll get a boost if you aim towards going under the block. Sounds Complicated? The this might be easier, when a block is rising, go under it, if
you're going to crash brake for a bit. Then, always go for the diamonds, unless you are passed 2000 points, have no shield, and are barely missing objects. If you have a
shield, always go for them. When it speeds up, use the brake A LOT. It will get you a high enough
score.
General tips

When playing, you should always, and I mean always, use the space bar. Sometimes as a
beginner, you'll hardly use the space bar at all, but you just have to get used to it to actually get good np from the
game. If you see three diamonds and a rock right behind the last one, just get the first diamond and you'll be
fine. Always get the shield if you see one. There is a pattern of every thing,
as you will notice once you get used to it. Then it will be much easier .Do all
that and you will get good scores!
Easier play with bigger windows

I always find that the game is easier to play on a bigger window (as it lets you see
the blocks coming sooner enabling you to swerve easier). To get the bigger window, just change the resolution in the game console area (before you
click open the window) to one bigger than the one you really have. For example, if you're on 800x600, change it to 1024x768.
Making fireballs disappear

First make sure that you start on a level where the blue shield will appear
first. If a fireball passes you without a shield this cheat will not work! When
you obtain the shield you will have to pass through the tunnel part of the
level. This is difficult enough to pass through the tunnel without losing the
shield. This may sound stupid but if you succeed in getting through the cave you
will see a fireball in the tunnel, run into it, losing the shield. The fireball
may be in the walls of the tunnel, thus the cheat not working. It will sometimes
appear a little further out of the tunnel, but most of the time it will appear
in the tunnel. If you succeed in doing all this the level will be completely
fireball free, making it a lot easier to obtain the gems and other shields. This
may take a few tries to get it down. (Yes this cheat does work. I have tested it
several times in both sizes and on different computers.) That is all the cheat
