Web of Vernax Game Guide
You know in those movies where the spider is always portrayed as the bad guy? You were always among the ones that screamed and cried out, "Eewwww," but secretly, you wanted to be the spider, because he was cool. Well in this game, this is your chance. Playing a Spyder petpet, your aim is to catch as many petpetpet Vernax as possible with your sticky web (Spiderman would be proud) before you fall from your web thrice.
To case your webbing, click and hold the mouse button. Drag the button outwards in your desired direction and release your mouse button. You will see your Spyder travel across the playing screen with a trail of web behind it. Your Spyder will continue until it hits an obstacle. Once it hits an obstacle, the web 'fortifies' and becomes a 'wall'.
To catch the pesky Vernax petpetpets, make a rectangle or square around it, ensuring that all four corners are aligned. To gain point bonus multipliers, ensure that the space enclosing the Vernax are as small as possible.
Point bonus multipliers can also be gained from trapping more than one bug in an
area.
Note, while spinning its web, the Spyder is vulnerable to the Vernax petpetpet. If they run through your web, you will watch as your Spyder falls and gain a strike, three strikes and you're out. In level 6, you will also notice red spiders circling the outer web. These are mega-bad boo boos, which means they are really, really, really, really, ridiculous, bad Spyders. If they eat you, you gain a strike against you. Be wary that after creating a web, your Spyder will sit at the end point until you make a new web, which means easy bait for the red Spyders, who are gifted with the ability to travel along the webs you make. There are ways to defeat these pesky villains however. By creating a single strand in the dark grey square (playing field) approximately 2cm from the edge, to the edge, and leaving it, the red Spyder will randomly crawl up into it and with no where to go when it reaches the end, it will fall off the trap web and disappear leaving you to your Vernax baiting activities. In addition, there are second chances in this game. If you collect 10 spyder bites, you gain an extra life! Be wary however that each level will only let you begin with three possible strikes, so if you find that you have collected 9 spider bites and have not yet been awarded a strike (which is good!), wait until you are striked, then collect the last spider bite to regain that life.
As you progress through levels, extra Vernax petpetpets will appear on the screen making web casting a little bit more difficult. To handle this, don't assume that the only options of making web boundries are large jumps between walls. They can be made in small increments and this is often the best way to go. Be wary however that there is a time limit in each level. Once you reach level 8, the screen resets with one Vernax again, however, these Vernax are now faster than before adding more challenge to the game. Because the Vernax become faster, it is now more essential to make webbing in smaller increments and minimize risks to ensure a high score. With that advice, keep an eye on the clock. Good luck! |
