How to Make a Clay Carrot Blade
Written by diva_brat
What you need
- Polymer Clay, I use sculpy, it’s the best!
- A butter knife or clay tool to cut the clay with.
- A newspaper covered with wax paper to work on.
- Clear nail polish. You can use this or not, but it makes them UBER SHINY!
- Metal paperclip and something to cut it with.
- Safety goggles.

Step 1
Take the orange and silver clay and roll them into equal size balls (1A). Use the orange and roll a carrot shaped lump out of it like in 1B, then cut a straight piece of your paperclip 1 ½ times as long as your carrot. Remember to be careful of the wire cutters, and wire, and be sure to wear the
safety goggles.

Step 2
Next, take some of the silver and fashion the lower part of the handle out of it, the part you hold on to. Make sure the bottom end is rounded and smooth. Then using more of the silver, fashion a cross-piece out of it, make sure the ends are smooth and round.

Step 3
Now take your paperclip piece and stick it into your carrot all but to the tip (3A). Then take the cross-piece and put it on, followed by the handle (3B).

Step 4
Now put small nicks and notches into the carrot and some into the blade. It didn’t show up well in the picture so I’ve drawn where they should be, do this all over the carrot blade (4A).

Step 5
Now follow the baking instructions for your clay. Once you’ve baked it let it cool for 5 minutes. Now you can either leave it as is or you can paint them with the clear nail polish and make
it uber shiny (Finish)!!!
Congrats! You now have a super cool Carrot Blade!
