It's pretty much the same with the game DINER DASH if you're familiar with it. So here's the thing. To avoid cramming, pick two orders consecutively. With this, you'll be able to serve them at the same time and (probably) they might also finish at the same time as well. This is also time saving.

To avoid coming back to and for getting orders, two orders at the same time saves more time and serves you more customers. Note: You can clean the crumbs by other customers while holding an order. You can clean up others first then give the order or vice versa. Any is helpful.
