Neopets: The Darkest Faerie PS2
This Sony Playstation 2 reincarnation is the result of a co-operative between Sony Computer Entertainment America, Santa Monica, and Neopets Inc.

Announced by Sony to be intended for �all ages� and set to ship in August 2005, Neopets: The Darkest Faerie (which was previously announced as "Lords of Altadore") will be released on the Sony Playstation 2 platform after the initial plan to release it on the Sony Playstation 1 platform was withdrawn.

A 3D, action-adventure RPG game, Neopets: The Darkest Faerie follows the storyline of two core characters � Tormund, a knighted Lupe and Roberta, a sorceress with awesome powers.

Roberta: Roberta, the niece of the King of Brightvale and aspiring sorceress, has been sent to ask the Faerie Queen why such ominous clouds are covering Meridell. (Excerpt taken from www.playstation.com)

We begin the game watching the pair go forth on a perilous quest to save Neopia, which is under threat by the evil Darkest Faerie. Travelling through Neopia, the pair are required to battle it out with creatures that are no doubt up to no good or under the influence of the Darkest Faerie. To aid them, we are able to equip them with swords, wands, shields and armour that we find along the way.

Together, Tormund and Roberta travel through the lands. What we can expect, in addition to exploring castles, rugged steppes, swamps, ancient dungeons, and overgrown forests, is being exposed to new lands that have not yet appeared on the online version of Neopets. In addition to meeting strange inhabitants, we will uncover a mystery unseen by Neopian eyes.

The storyline in this game spans 1,000 years of Neopian history. Neopets: The Darkest Faerie will also allow players to switch between Tormund and Roberta to utilize their unique abilites. In addition to this feature, there is a �mote magic� system that will allow customisation of defence and attack items found in the world.

In addition to the plethora of items available in this game, players are also able to utilize Petpets. Coined the �Petpet power up system�, differing Petpets confer different special abilites to the player adding a new dimension to game play.

The entire game encompasses more than 60 areas while offering hundreds of non playable characters from the online Neopets game to add interactivity.

With the plan to duke it out head-to-head with 12 unique bosses, this game will allow the player to open up a whole new realm in the world of Neopia that isn�t available in the online version.
