How to obtain the Escape From Meridell Castle Avatar

To obtain this avatar, be in the Top 50 on the Escape from Meridell Castle
Hi-Score table.
This avatar is very easy and best to obtain if you play Escape From Meridell
Castle at the end of the first day of the next coming month and score maybe
around 1300+. The Hi-Score tables resets every month, so the scores are smaller
then you think. At the end of the day gives you an idea of what should you
score. And I recommend you to score around 1300+.
Before you "try" for the avatar, ALWAYS PRACTICE!!! I got this avatar
when I was 45th place at the end of the day.
You won't get this avatar as a "Something Has Happened" event. You'll get it the
next day under your avatar list.
Usually I scored 1500+ most of the time.
Having a hold on the precious gold trophy

Ahhhhh.... yes, my most luxurious trophy. Again, always practice and look
forward to it. I started out earning the bronze trophy, then the silver trophy,
and finally the gold trophy. I didn't just get the trophy in a one shot blow!
When I first played Escape From Meridell Castle, I always scored around 20 - 100
points. Now look at me! 2058 being my highest score (that isn't meant to be an
insult)? Just to tell you something, you know I just earn this trophy at July 4,
2005, not long ago. You can earn it soon.
Valrigard's Story
Valrigard was a noble Draik warrior, born and raised in the land of Meridell. He
had defended the castle on many occasions, won the favour of many beautiful
princesses, and was a personal friend to King Skarl himself.
This was all in the past however... Valrigard sat at the bottom of his dank
prison, in the depths far below the castle. He had been betrayed by one of the
king's closest advisors, and framed for a crime he did not commit. That was
three years ago, and ever since then he had been thinking of a way to escape his
prison and clear his name.
Valrigard suddenly noticed something ... a key, a shiny gold key lay on the
floor of his prison cell. How did it get there?? Valrigard gasped, this was his
chance to escape. Now only if he could get past the guards, the traps, and get
out of there, the dungeon was notoriously well guarded and as far as he could
remember, there had not been an escape in the last hundred years...
(From the Valrigard's story section when you click Instructions)
The Keys

Press SPACE, to make Valrigard wield his sword and attack enemies.
Press LEFT ARROW, to make Valrigard turn left.
Press RIGHT ARROW, to make Valrigard turn right.
Press UP ARROW, to make Valrigard take flight.
You could also press UP + RIGHT to make Valrigard turn right when flying, and
vice versa.
The only exception: You can't press SPACE + UP at the same time. All he does is
fly.
The Basics
OK, obviously, you know you have total control over a Blue Draik named Valrigard,
and the purpose is to have him escape the castle. Well, the people who scored on
the Hi-score table, didn't have Valrigard escape but leave him into pieces. My
friend ddaniiel, has helped Valrigard escape the castle a couple of times and
completed all the levels! I think the difficulty of the level is what makes this
game hard.
There are some cautions when you take flight. First thing you know is that you
have a limited amount of energy, and when you rest, your energy level became a
full boost in like a second. This is one advantage. There are some levels that
when you take full flight, you won't be able to get out (Like in Level 9 and
Level 12). This doesn't mean he'll never get out, there is a way he can if you
read later. ;) The energy is only used for flight only, nothing else.
You have 300 seconds to complete a level. You won't be awarded bonus points for
the leftover time :(. You'll used a lot of time in Level 12, since that level is
a big one. If that happens, you can type valrigard to reset your timer. I
don't use that tip at all. At level 12, usually I complete that level in less
then 200 seconds.
The part where it said
:
000/023 shows how many stars you've collected over the total possible stars you
could've collected. 1 star is worth one point, and 100 stars means you gain an
extra life. Usually I gain my first official life at the middle of level 6.
There are golden boxes that have a question mark on it. When you hit the box, a
number will appear, then fade as it ascends. You'll also hear a "crystallized"
sound. That sound determines that you hit the box. But sometimes you'll hear it
randomly at the game when collecting stars. That's "random" sound means that you
gain a new life because you've collected your 100th star.
The Enemies
The "spiky" area are "sorta" enemies. If you land in one, you're a goner.
Grarrls are walking enemies. You can use your sword to attack it. It is best to
attack them when they are walking towards you. They don't do long distance
attacks. If you walk into one, your gone.
Korbats are flying enemies. They don't fly to you. You could use your sword to
attack it. But there is one caution, when flying, you can't use your sword.
Pressing Space + Up isn't going to attack a Korbat. It is best to fly to a
Korbat's zone and hover in there. When it comes towards you, let go the up
button and press Space.
Cannons are harmful. You could attack one, but this doesn't mean that they will
stop shooting you. They'll keep shooting and shooting. Oh wait... did I forget
to tell you one thing? IT'S OKAY TO TOUCH IT. Somehow, you should be able to get
into its area. If you do, press Space and you'll earn a huge amount of points
(not always).
Spykes are harmful too. You can't attack one of these. They move just like
Grarrls. Touch one, you're toast. I'll give some tips in dodging them later.
Dripping Blood are harmful too. All they do is release drips of blood. Touch
one, you're covered with blood. You know what makes them even worse, their
rates. Sometimes it'll take 5 seconds for the next blood drip, other times,
it'll take 1 second for the next blood drip! :o There is one more that made them
more worse, the position of the blood drip. It'll never drip to the left in a
narrow space. If it drips in the right, dodge it by turning left. If it drips in
the center, you're gone.
Fireballs are just like Spykes, except they move up and down. Dodging them are
very very easy. All you do is just dodge. You can't kill them.
Spylkes are the most hardest to kill in my view. Look in ddaniiel's guide for
some help. http://home.neopets.com/templates/homepage.phtml?pet_name=Kaaboozle
Scoring System
The number of monsters in the a level = Points earned by killing first monster.
The number of monsters in the a level - 1 = Points earned by killing second
monster.
The number of monsters in the a level - 2 = Points earned by killing third
monster.
Apply this rule to the remaining levels.
NP System
200 NP every 100 points earned.
1000 NP is maximum.
Most scores are reviewed by TNT when you scored 1750+ in Escape From Meridell
Castle.
Bonus Levels
Wow, you know there are bonus levels at this game. It's not like typing a cheat
code to have access to it. The red doors are actually the access to the bonus
level. When you reach level 6 and level 10, you'll see the red doors at the
bottom right corner. There is no actual access to the red doors. There are more
red doors, at level 11 and level 19. You could actually have access to the red
doors.
In level 11, the red door is on the ledge on the VERY VERY top of the level. Go
to the right of the yellow door, but don't enter it... Instead fly to the top
and collect two blue orbs and then turn a little to the left. Collect two more
orbs and you'll find a ledge with the red door. Find out what's in the bonus
level.
I've never been to level 19. Look in cleanbrian's guide for some assistance.
The Rarity of the ? Boxes
I did this for you. It's kinda tiring... Out of 100 times, this is what I got...
Getting a 1 = 56%
Getting a 2 = 17%
Getting a 3 = 16%
Getting a 4 = 10%
Getting a 100 = 1%
