Spell-Or-Starve Game Guide
Remember that little computer robot thing that kept on searching for friends in
the Neopets Mystery, where neopians had to unite and solve the ever hard puzzles
in order to save those poor neopets stuck in the elevator? Well the little robot
is back. Mean as ever. In a bid to keep you locked in its safe, you will only be
able to escape by cracking its codes, earning you sufficient poitns to advance
to the next puzzle. Solve enough and you roam free once again.
English skills are a must in this game. Don't know any English words and you
will find that you will fail miserably. If you want to learn a few English
words, well here's your perfect chance! Through totally nonsensical, random
clicking, you will discover new words you never knew existed. Perfect for those
spelling tests! ^_^
In this game, you, the trapped are presented with a plethora of letters all
jumbled up. Your job, is to form words, not unlike Scrabble or Upwords, by
linking the letters in the order they appear for your chosen word. The more
letters the word you create take up, the more points you earn. The pointing
system is based exponentially. That is, forming two separate words with 6
letters will give you for example, 30 points, whilst forming a word using 6
letters will give you 60 points!
Obviously, as you progress in levels, the minimum point expectancy is increased.
Therefore, you must perform a little bit better than you did last round. This
requires you to form longer words that you previously had. For example, if I was
playing on easy mode level 1, and I formed 3 four letter words to pass the
level, than on level 2, I would attempt to form at least 5 four letter words to successfully
pass the new minimum score needed to open the trap door into the next level.
There are various strategies involved to score you the extra points however.
Some of which shall be highlighted here.

What you see here is pretty darn sneaky. It is called using the apostrophe to
your advantage! That little green dude you see there is really an apostrophe.
What you do is, if you are near it, whack it unto the end of your word to
totally blitz the scoring field! As you can see here, this is level 4, and 45
points minimum is needed to advance to the next level. If you look at the amount
of letters provided, you will also see that the only way of reaching this is by
threading words of at least three letters in length. Preferably four or more
will do the trick!

Another often forgotten trick is using plurals. This will work wonders for any
word and will prove to be a definite life saver in times of unrest!
When threading
letters together to form words, after you've gotten the word you want, don't
click "submit word" straight away. Click on the boxes around to see if
there can be an added letter you missed! Using this method, I have successfully
strung words over 6 letters!
Also keep in mind that there is also a time limit in the game. On harder levels,
the time limit is not increased proportionally, that means you have less time to
complete puzzle and satisfy the needed score. Recommended playing on easier
levels to get the hang of the tricks!
Also in the game, are light blue blocks which change letters periodically. Never
ever sit there and wait for the letter to come up as the letter you want. If you
see a word which can be formed with it, than go for it asap. Better lose a few
points than those a lot of time.
Well that's it. This game is one of the more intelligent games in NeoPia, play
it and watch your vocabulary levels increase! Have fun and good luck!
