Usuki Frenzy seems like a sissy sort of game. If you have played it, however, you know it can be addicting, trying to beat your score. Here are some tips to help you complete the game in the fastest time possible.
1. Sally Usul moves faster at a diagonal than she does going in a straight line. This is very helpful if you have a slower computer like mine, and need to get from one spot to the other as fast as you can. By pressing the up or down arrows and the direction you want to move, you can move Sally in a faster diagonal.
2. The best way to go through the rooms is bedroom, bathroom, dining room, kitchen, living room. It saves you extra time crossing the kitchen more than once, and often there are not even any items you need in the living room.
3. There IS a living room. If you keep walking left in the kitchen you will enter it. There is also an arrow on the kitchen wall pointing. Don't be like me and constantly wonder why you can only find 9 out of 10 items!
4. If you accidentally do pick up an item you don't need, don't worry about avoiding other items. You won't pick them up if you already have one. Get to the nearest shelf as fast as you can, drop it, then worry about avoiding the wrong items.
5. You don't have to drop the items on the shelf in the room you are in. If you just picked something up in the dining room and the bathroom is closer, take it in there to drop it. This saves precious seconds.
6. Practice does make perfect. Playing more helps you learn what items you need and which you don't, so you don't need to keep checking the bottom of the screen.
7. Scoring is complicated. You get 10 points for ever item you get and lose three if you pick a wrong item up. Time bonuses go like this: you get one point for every second left over in your time. So, if you got all ten items, but picked up one by mistake and did it all in 62 seconds (One minute, two seconds) your score would be 97 and time bonus would be 58 so your total score would be 153. To get a score on the high score table you would need get all ten items with no mistakes in 16 seconds. To even become a Grand Master, you need to get all ten items with no mistakes in 20 seconds.
8. It can be done! But it is mostly a matter of chance. Your time depends on what items are in which rooms and which rooms you go into first AND how many you need are in the rooms you first go in. You have to just keep playing, and eventually it might happen.
