Tricks for the Wheel of Excitement
Written by perfectpaws

Everyone knows about the Wheel Of Excitement, right? That fun little game where you only pay 100 for your fate? Well, things on that wheel can go a couple of ways, the main being good and bad. Good things are things that win you np, even if it is only what you paid in the first place (although that could be considered neutral . . .). Bad things are things like the Pant Devil, Fire Ghoul, Question Mark Space (I'm not entirely sure about this one -- but whenever I get it, I always win less than 100np), and the Skull. Now, you can't really avoid the Question Mark Space, but there are some solutions for some of the others.

The first trick is to always, always always always (I cannot stress this enough!) go the the Wheel before you visit the Water Faerie. If your pet gets fire breathed on it by that Fire Ghoul or zapped with lightning, it will chip away at the pet's hit points. If you go to the Wheel first, if you pet loses hit points you can usually win them back from the Water Faerie. If not, she will give you a potion that you can sell for np and your pets will get better over time. You can also try again in 30 minutes . . . : )

The next trick works outside of the Wheel as well. Everybody has a Safety Deposit Box. I know that everybody says that you shouldn't use your SDB because you can make money off of it, and that is a reasonable claim, but your SDB is more valuable than you think! We know that the bank doesn't protect your np from ghosts and stuff, but your SDB protects your items from similar mischief makers and other creepy things flying around Neopia. The Pant Devil can be encountered in daily Neopian life, but he has a spot on the Wheel of Excitement as well. What you may not know is that you can only do things with the items that you are carrying, and that includes lose them! The Pant Devil can't steal items that you aren't carrying. If they are stored away in your SDB, they are safe! Nothing can take them from you, so you don't have to worry about your ultra-rare Faerie, Fire, or Baby p/b, or maybe your Blue Scortchstone, or one of those 9 pieces of the Secret Lab map you've been saving, getting stolen. The SDB may seem like a stealthy waste-maker for some, but really, your Deposit Box is one of your most valuable tools. They don't even cost anything! Plus, they never get full.

This trick is more for using the Wheel to your advantage. There is a spot for that ever-so-kind Uber Light Faerie on the Wheel. She can heal your sick pets if you can land on her! Once, my gelert, Laenin, was sick. He came down with "Ugga Ugga," possibly one of the worst Neo-diseases that you can get : (. You know this one -- your pet's throat gets so swollen that it can only speak in Uggs. Well, the cost of the Sporkle Syrup, the cure for "Ugga Ugga" happens to be about 99,000 np on the Shop Wizard. I don't know how much it costs in the Pharmacy, frankly I never saw it there. Luckily for me (and my bank account!!!!), when I went to the Wheel of Excitement, I landed on the Light Faerie! It said that a golden light had surround my pets and they were completely healed. I nearly jumped, I was so glad. I had saved myself a huge amount of np, because Laenin's cure cost a measly 100 np, the cost of that Wheel. So my advice is this: If you have a sick pet, make it your active pet, just in case you happen to have the shrine or something heal it. Then, go to the Wheel of Excitement! If you try long enough, you can probably eventually land on the Light Faerie. Of course, if your disease is something where it costs about 60 np to get the injection to heal it, by all means go with the medication. But for something like "Ugga Ugga," you are probably better off taking your chances with that Wheel!

I hope that these tricks helped you! My neopets username is perfectpaws -- I love getting mail, so if you have some time, send over a neomail! : )
